Paula Seling was born on December 25, 1978 in Baia Mare. She graduated the College "George Sincai" from Baia Mare in 1997, and then the Higher School of Journalism in Bucharest. She studied singing and piano.
She sang along Al Bano, Anita Doth (lead singer of 2 Unlimited), Tony Hawks and at the opening of extraordinary concerts held in Romania by Joan Baez (June 27th 1997), Chick Corea (November 9th 1998), Michael Bolton (July 7th 2007) Beyonce (26 October 2007). She collaborated with the producer of video clips Andreea Păduraru obtaining for one of these collaborations a prize (with the director) in 2003 on MTV. Married, in 2005 Seling opened her own house of production, Unicorn Records, with her brother, Paul Seling and her husband.
On July 10, 2009 she launched the single Believe from the album with the same name, album released a month before, on June 10 at Silver Church.
On March 6, 2010, together with her stage partner Ovi she is qualifying for the final in Eurovision 2010 in Oslo with the song Playing With Fire.
On May 29, 2010, along with Ovi get 3rd place in the final of Eurovision 2010 in Oslo. In 2011, she accepts the invitation of Walt Disney Romania to lend her voice for the first time in an animated film, which is Holley Speed from the movie Cars 2, the original voice belonging to Emily Mortimer.
10 May 2014 Paula and Ovi, ranked 12 in the 2014 Eurovision final in Copenhagen with the piece Miracle.
On 24 May 2014 Paula Seling was declared the best participant of Eurovision 2014. Paula has gathered nearly 30,000 votes on wiwiblogs.com, adjudicating her crown "Eurovision Next Top Model 2014” in detriment of Kasey Smith and Ilse Delange. This is the second time in the last four years, when Paula was able to get the title of the best competitor of the European Song Contest, after 2010 when she was the winner again.
