From 4 July to 12 August 2016, in Timisoara, at the art gallery Calina, Space for Contemporary Art, Cătălin Burcea exhibits his latest project, along Olivia Nitis as curator. Gold ... real gold. In one of these containers there is real gold, but we do not know in which exactly until we do an x-ray.
An inner X-ray reveals the hidden gold within us, which leads to a realization through ourselves and through hope. "I feel better every day," choosing the good without avoiding to be intimidated by external factors. The exhibition presents the status of the individual in the current frivolous society, an era of false idols in which the superficiality of politics, putting the tabloid journalism on a pedestal, are symptoms that dominate the scene of the contemporary consciousness scene. We live a desecration of the culture and of the values, in which the artist, who is the most sensitive seismograph of the environment, feels insecure and marginalized as a person and as part of society.
