This fall, the city of Bucharest will resound to the rhythm of jazz at the fifth edition of the Bucharest Jazz Festival, organized by ARCUB - Cultural Center of Bucharest, which will be held between 19 and 25 September 2016, in George Enescu Square and Gabroveni Inn.
The new artistic director of the festival is the famous jazz singer Teodora Enache, after three years that the mandate of the musician Lucian Ban has ended.
Besides the five evenings of concerts, under which will be on the stage renowned national and international artists, side events will take place during the festival - launches and exhibitions.
Also continues the New Jazz Works program, launched last year, which encourages artists from Romania to propose innovative creations written for an ensemble of two to ten musicians.
Graduate of the Faculty of Mathematics from Iasi, Teodora Enache debuted in 1993 in the music industry, achieving Grand Prix at the International Jazz Festival Sibiu. The year 2002 accounted for Teodora Enache as an international springboard with the project "Roots" , presented in Europe and US.
Over time, Teodora Enache has given concerts in the largest cities of the world such as Montreal, Budapest, Washington (Library of Congress), Panama, Paris, Vienna, Montreux, Marciac, Milan, Stockholm and has won numerous awards, among which the Excellence Award for the best contribution made by a jazz musician in Romania offered by the Romanian Radio Broadcasting Corporation.
