Cezanne Restaurant - the place where culinary art meets with the pictorial art into a new concept

"The Cezanne concept" belongs entirely to Cezar Munteanu, being an extension of his personality, of his chef experience and his inclination towards art

In the Charles de Gaulle Square, in Bucharest, was opened another restaurant which has a Chef as manager, forming a triad with two others restaurants in the same area. In order to achieve the desired concept, Chef Cezar Munteanu has chosen a historic building, a house once frequented by the King Charles II.

The name of the restaurant, Cezanne, has not been chosen accidentally. Besides the similarity of the name, the Post-Impressionist painter is a source of inspiration for the interior decoration, but also for the gastronomic vision of Cezar Munteanu. The gourmet's concept unfolds under the motto "life imitates art".

A grand fireplace, sculpted by Constantin Brancusi, represents the central element of art, which add some reproductions of works of the great French painter Cezanne. The kitchen continues subtle artistic influence, both by content and by decorating of the dishes. A cookery of "chic cuisine", with refined French and Italian influences, which is added a final note of the English cuisine and of course the Cezar Munteanu's personality footprint.

"The Cezanne concept" belongs entirely to Cezar Munteanu, being an extension of his personality, of his chef experience and his inclination towards art. In this concept joins even the kind of relationships with the customers, defined as "guests", ranging from exemplary service always accompanied by a smile, till to the interaction with them through discussions about politics, securities market, nutrition, TV shows, kitchen etc. The guests may be from different social classes however predominantly from the business area. It is not an expensive restaurant, but neither can be accessible to anyone because it serves slightly sophisticated preparations, serving some tastes, and the guests should "understand the preparation".

"I would like an audience that understands what I wanted to convey through the prepared food, to understand that a good wine is not necessarily one of 400-500 lei/ bottle and can enjoy a beautiful atmosphere in the house of Charles II, where is said to have started the romance between him and Elena Lupescu. About all of these I will talk with my clients, because I want to offer them a complete show, since the entering the restaurant until they leave", says Cezar Munteanu.
