Timişoara - The Capital of European Entrepreneurship

Timişoara's status as a business-friendly city is a truth reflected both in figures and also visible to the naked eye during a simple walk through the many business centers in the city. Achieving the title of European Capital of Culture in 2021 makes Timișoara a landmark for investment not only in Romania but also in Eastern Europe; and specialists believe that is only the beginning, because after 2021 Timișoara will have guaranteed a name for itself even at a European level.

Hosting the Entrepreneurship Summit 2017 is already a sign that the European business environment is starting to learn about Timișoara and to focus its attention in this direction. The event promises to showcase over 60 manifestations hosted by more than 120 foreign and Romanian speakers and attended by over 1,200 participants from both Timișoara and Romania but also from abroad.

The aim of the summit is to offer a wide array of solutions to entrepreneurs, managers and professionals in the region and to align them to the international trends in the field.

Obviously, the focus that the summit has on the host city and the region it is part of represents an opportunity for those present to get acquainted to the local business environment and to direct potential investments in this area. There are already signs that both local and foreign investors are seriously considering different investment opportunities in this regard focusing either on culture, on history or even on tourism.

Besides this, there is also a growing trend looking at reuniting Timișoara with Novi Sad (located in Serbia), a neighbouring city located at just over 100 km away, and also city likely to enjoy high business interest in the future, especially since in the year 2021, both Timișoara and Novi Sad will share the status of European cultural capital. Thus, it is clear that potential exists, that ideas and initiatives are coming in and that the only uncertainty remains which initiative will eventually prevail.
