The so-called North Sea is actually a reservoir lake located between the settlements of Stânca and Costeşti, on the border with the Republic of Moldova. On the bank facing Stânca, the lake formed a sandy beach, which is obviously not the best in the world, but the access to the water and the virgin beauty of the place seem to have a special appeal to tourists. According to locals, the beach has been exploited for quite some time by those living in the area, but its attractiveness has risen sharply once the land has been bought and the beach refurbished a private investor looking to offer better conditions to people looking to sun beathe and dip in the lake.
Thus, the access road to the beach has been improved, the beach has been set up and delineated, and the owner has also built a terrace and a parking lot. Also, a music scene was set up in the area, which has already hosted various musical events. With these minimum investments, the beach has come to experience an unexpected number of tourists, becoming incredibly crouded, especially over the weekend. The recorded success is so great that people come to visit the North Sea beach even from a distance 60-100 kilometers away. According to them, a trip to the Romanian seashore goes beyond 300-400 kilometres, which is why the Stânca-Costești version is more handy.
Automatically, such a success has attracted a lot of investors who want to bring water games, accommodation and one or more restaurants on the lake shore. All this will take away from the virginity of the place, but unfortunately any place that arouses tourist interest can not be left untouched.
