Salad Box appeared in Romania at a time when the association of salad with fast food was almost inconceivable. By definition, fast food in Romania means meat, sauces and, of course, French fries. Well, with Salad Box things started to change, driven also by the broader trend of healthy eating and living a healthy lifestyle.
Thus, the first Salad Box, opened in 2012 in Cluj, enjoyed quick success, in a somewhat natural manner. In spite of the perceived orientation of Romanians towards meat, in practice, there was already in Romania a solid customer base for healthier heating, for fresher produce, and Salad Box simply gave them exactly what they were looking for. The figures speak for themselves in this regard, since over the course of just one year Salad Box evolved from a 9-10 square meter booth to 12 locations across the country.
This initial achievement then carried Salad Box founders beyond what they had ever hoped for, the concept proving successful even outside of Romania, and not anywhere, but in cities such as Amsterdam, London, Paris or even New York, where competition is really fierce. Still, within 6 years, Salda Box reached 70 locations on not less than 3 continents. Locations are open under a franchising scheme, while recipes are tailored to the specifics of each location.
The future stake Salad Box is the Middle East, where it intends to expand, targeting Dubai, with markets such as India and Canada to also be hosting the Salad Box brand as soon as possible.
