Three years after the last edition of Rock The City festival, this year returns with a consistent lineup. The band Iron Maiden will be the headline of July 30. The event will be held in Constitution Square in Bucharest, organized by Marcel Avram, East European Production and D & D East Entertainment.
Founded in London in 1975 at the initiative of Steve Harris, until then member of a rock band - Smiler, the band took the name after one of the most diabolical objects of medieval torture, addressing a hard and heavy sound. The heavy metal scene of the late '70s was largely considered poor, with very few bands producing quality music. It was then that a new kind of British troops began to appear. This movement started in the period 1979-1980 and is known as the New Wave of British Heavy Metal. Iron Maiden is, from this point of view, the most representative band of this genre.
In the early years of the band Iron Maiden were several lineup changes, the first EP debut being conducted by Harris, Dave Murray, Paul Di'Anno and Doug Sampson. The band debuted live at the Cart & Horses Pub in Stratford, east London, in 1977, after two years when they sustained performances in various bars.
Without obtaining a response from registrars, the band sent a tape of three songs - "Iron Maiden" (song that you can listen by clicking here) "Prowler" and "Strange World" – to Neal Kay, DJ at hard-rock disco in north London, the Kingsbury Bandwagon Soundhouse. The fact that the band came to the attention of Kay mattered a lot for the success of the boys, especially by setting up a music label, signed Iron Maiden.
The ticket prices vary from 145 to 291 lei and for children aged up to 7 years is strictly prohibited to participate.
