One way to cook stuffed peppers is with the following ingredients: 500 g of minced meat (pork, beef, turkey or chicken), 300 g of rice, 2 pieces of onion, half a liter of tomato sauce, salt, pepper, one tablespoon of paprika, marjoram, celery leaves, 100 ml of oil, 15 – 20 bell peppers, 10 slices of tomato and one tablespoon of peppercorns.
The tomato sauce needs to be cooked separately and for this you will need: 300 ml of tomato sauce, 50 ml of oil, one tablespoon of flour, salt and sugar.
You start by peeling, washing and then finely chopping the onion. Then, you sweat it in oil until it becomes transparent. When you think it is ready, take it off the heat and add the paprika. Pour everything in a bowl together with the minced meat. Then wash the rice several times and add it to the mixture together with salt and ground pepper.
Now it is time to prepare the peppers for stuffing. You cut the bottom together with the stalk and take out the seeds. You can throw the stalk, but keep the bottom part of the peppers for later. To make sure that there are no seeds left, give the peppers a rinse and then let them dry. Now you stuff them with the filling and when they are almost full, push the composition down with a spoon and put a slice of tomato as a lid on each pepper.
Then, place the pepper bottoms in a pot with a few leaves of celery and put the peppers on top. If you have any tomatoes left, cut them into pieces and put them over the peppers. Then add one tablespoon of salt, half a liter of tomato sauce, one teaspoon of marjoram and finally, pour enough water to cover the peppers. Place a plate over the pot and then the lid and let the peppers cook.
The tomato sauce has to be made separately and then served with the peppers. You heat some oil and when it is hot, add the flour. You stir for a few seconds and then add the tomato sauce. Let it boil for a while and add salt and sugar.
