With a tradition of over 600 years, the Cincşor village has a story similar to many other Saxon villages once abandoned, but with the chance of being retrieved, rediscovered and revived by the kind-hearted people. Carmen Schuster is one of those people, returned home with great plans. She studied at the village school, has made a career in Germany but she has returned to the country, animated with wonderful thoughts and projects related to the revival of her native village.
She started with the renovation and restoration of the main buildings that made up the cultural and spiritual center of the village: the Fortified Church (XIII century), the Parish House (XV century) and the Evangelical School (built in 1910). Then, having the vision of the tourism potential of the village, she decided to transform the parish house and the school in guest houses, to enable the accommodation of tourists who want to spend more time in the village.
Another challenge was the transformation of the parish stables in comfortable living spaces. Everything was done by minimal interventions trying to preserve the old architectural environment. Where it was needed, they were also integrated modern elements, and were opened interior spaces, horizontally and vertically, but which show off the old wooden structure. For the rooms furnishing were used authentic pieces, which were intercalated in with some modern, all made in order to ensure the tourists comfort.
“We really like the relaxed and bohemian decor of the guest houses, whose essential elements are precisely the recovered and disclosed details of the historic buildings - the frescoes, the authentic plaster, the old wooden beams, the stoves, the shape of the windows ...”, says Carmen Schuster.
The Cincşor Houses confer an oasis of peace and quiet needed for the exit from the hubbub of the everyday life. Here, you can read relaxed old and new books in the splendid library of the house, you can socialize in the beautiful lounge, you can take revitalizing walks through the village or in the surrounding areas, you can retreat into the secret places where to resonate with the nature, you can inspire the fresh air with the scent of ancient world, and when you get hungry, you can enjoy selected dishes, prepared in a kitchen led by a chef.
