The village Breb, the paradise of Maramures
Why is Breb a magnet for tourists from all over the world? The answer is the simplicity of the traditional Romanian village, where traditions are still alive. In this village of Maramures, the people are doing the same life as hundreds of years ago.
Therefore, there is no house without animals. Thus, the tourists coming to this little corner of paradise can learn how to milk cows, or collect eggs from the nest. If travelers feel cold, they are served by the locals with the local plum or apple brandy in front of the fireplace. After finishing the work in the fields, the women of the village start to weave carpets, coats and others.
And if the tourists want to enjoy the surroundings, can hire bicycles, which are ideal for walking along the trails of the mountains of Gutâi.
Breb village is 40 km from Baia Mare, near the city Ocna Şugatag. At the beginning of the village a traditional gate of Maramures welcomes the travelers.
