Romania remains among the top global travel recommendations, according to a selection compiled by Norwegian explorer Gunnar Garfors, which includes 12 destinations considered essential to visit at least once in a lifetime.
Asked about his favorite country, Garfors подчеркed that it is difficult to choose just one destination, but highlighted a select group of countries that offer memorable experiences. In this context, Romania ranks first on his personal list.
“Transylvania, well known for its castles, mountains and, of course, the legend of Dracula, continues to impress visitors. At the same time, the nightlife in Bucharest and the local culture add to its appeal. And Romanians know how to make excellent beer,” Garfors said in an interview with Business Insider.
The full list of destinations recommended by Garfors includes, in addition to Romania: Madagascar, Iceland, Vietnam, Kyrgyzstan, Kiribati, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Sierra Leone, Dominica, Norway and Uruguay.
Gunnar Garfors, born in 1975, is known for having visited nearly every country in the world. The author of 198: How I Ran Out of Countries, he is actively involved in the media industry, serving as president of the International DMB Advancement Group and working as a distribution expert for NRK.
