The festival aims to combine in a unique reality and myth in a medieval atmosphere, presenting the real life of Prince Vlad the Impaler behind the myth of Count Dracula, the bloodthirsty character.

The myth of Dracula, a magnet for tourists
The myth of Dracula brings more and more tourists to the Corvin Castle of Hunedoara. A legend says that Vlad the Impaler was imprisoned for seven years in the basement of the castle, and that he would frighten the guards for his cruelty. However, historians say that this story is false.
In the autumn of 2014, the Hunyadi castle became decoration for a historical film about Vlad the Impaler shot by an American film production company. The castle of Hunedoara was chosen to run the most important moments of the four-hour documentary about Prince Vlad the Impaler. The historical film "Vlad the Impaler" is directed by Keon Waxman, and among the actors there is also Dominic Purcell, the actor who starred in the series "Prison Break."
