Tourism will always be a profitable business. However, success does not come on its own, but must be maintained and nurtured. That is why Eximtur is undergoing a continuous transformation, even if it is a company that is more than established on the Romanian market. Basically, Eximtur is one of the first privately owned travel agencies in the country. Founded in 1993, the company is worth today no less than EUR 47 million, subordinating 170 employees across the country, compared to the three people from Cluj Napoca with whom it initially set up shop.
The differences seem huge and that's because they are. If on paper these numbers make people raise their eyebrows, it is clear that in practice things were much more intense and the journey was not easy at all. However, perseverance and the ability to keep up with or even anticipate certain trends in the field are the elements that make the difference. In this regard, Eximtur knew what to start with (holidays on the Romanian seaside), it knew to quickly include in its offer destinations from abroad, it knew that it had to acquire computer systems (it was the agency that introduced the first tourism management computer program) and it especially knew when to enter the corporate segment. Although it may seem surprising, the Business Travel sector is today the engine of the company, whose services are generally varied and tailored to all tastes and pockets.
The road was long but eventually worth it, Eximtur now serving as an example of good business management for any entrepreneur who is thinking of investing in tourism or in Romania for that matter.
