The story of Cosmetic Plant began in 1991, when Mrs. Ileana Mester, a dedicated pharmacist, founded a cosmetics company, convinced that the quality and the effects of plants are undervalued in the cosmetics industry.
Twenty-five years later, this small start-up grew into a genuine business, which may actually be considered a leader in the Romanian cosmetics sector as well as an enterprise with a sufficient exposure abroad and an undeniable success in countries like Hungary, Moldova and Jordan, where Cosmetic Plant is already a well-established brand.
With a turnover of 2 million Euros in 2015, up 20% compared to the previous year, Cosmetic Plant seems destined to achieve great things, especially abroad, where, general manager Susana Laszlo, the daughter Mrs. Mester, announced an advance of 170% in terms of export sales. According to officials of Cosmetic Plant, behind this success stood a well-thought strategy, particularly designed in order to further penetrate both the domestic market (through the connection to a new network of hypermarkets and through an increase of the product variety) and the external market (through the increase of the number of partners in markets where the brand was already present as well as through the launch of exports to totally novel countries and markets).
For 2016, the company wishes to maintain this growth trend, counting a turnover growth of at least 10% compared to 2015, a growth that would be achieved through the expansion of the external distribution network along with the launch of various new products, especially since this year marks the 25th anniversary of the company.
