Over 30.000 HP – this brings together the over 150 special cars and motorcycle models building the Ţiriac Collection. This unique gallery in Romania is the property of the business man Ion Ţiriac, the healthiest Romanian according to Top 300 Capital, the antique cars being his passion. Ion Ţiriac posses about 300 luxury and collection cars, which are exposed in turn in the car museum.
“Out of my passion for cars I collected vehicle produced starting with 1899. I am now glad to share my passion with the visitors of the gallery. A part of the car evolution history can be seen in the collection I invite you to discover”, declared the business man at the inauguration of Ţiriac Collection.
What cars can be admired in Ţiriac Collection?
The car museum owned by Ion Ţiriac was opened in 2013 in Bucharest, in front of the International Airport “Henri Coandă”.
Among the most important attractions of Ţiriac Collection is the fact that it is the only collection in the world containing the six Rolls Royce Phantom cars fabricated until 1972. In the centre of public attraction is also a Ferrari fabricated in 2014, having 900 HP. The impressive car reaches 100 kilometres within three seconds. The oldest exhibit of Ţiriac Collection is a Hurtu 3 ½ Quadricycle, fabricated in 1899.
Moreover, the visitors can also admire a one million Euro expensive Mercedes, but also the first BMW model in the history, these two cars being bought by Ion Ţiriac last year.
Other “jewels” of the sole personal car gallery in Romania, opened for the wide public, are a Rolls Royce Phantom V (Park Ward), bought from Sir Elton John, but also other samples which belonged to some celebrities, such as Sammy Davis Jr. or Bernie Ecclestone. Ţiriac Collection also houses five motorcycles and one scooter.
The gallery was reopened in April this year, after a few months of being closed for some extension works. The car museum is located in Otopeni, Calea Bucureştilor no. 289, and can be visited from Friday until Sunday between 10.00 and 19.00 o’clock. The entry ticket costs 15 Lei for adults and 7 Lei for children.
