Bucharest Christmas Market, the Christmas Fair in Bucharest, entered on the list of the most important fairs of its kind in Europe, installed in Piaţa Universităţii (the University Square) since November 27. For a month the center of the town will become the center of the winter holidays full of frenzy of joy and good cheer.
Groups of carolers and folk ensembles from around the country will bring on the fair stage the Romanian traditions spirit that will enliven the city and the tourists who come to spend the winter holidays in Bucharest. To these will be added groups of pop, soul, rock, reggae music, many genres designed to cover many musical tastes.
Besides the traditional fir tree illuminated by 20,000 lights, 60 little houses beautifully decorated awaits visitors and buyers because there are all sorts of products that more tempting: jams, syrups, gingerbread, wine boiled, but also icons, painted pottery, traditional masks, wooden toys, musical instruments, jewelry.Between 18-22 December it will be appreciated the most beautiful house and will obtain a prize established by the vote of visitors.
There is a traditional preparations area where housewives across the country are competing to cook delicious food. Alongside, the craftsmen and artists manufacture objects and ornaments under the curious glances of visitors.
The Santa's House, beautifully decorated by the goblins hosts the Santa, which has come from the North Pole, on December 12, glad to tell stories and bring gifts to the children from Bucharest. In this space the story, children can draw, color, say poems, along with elves, fairies and other fairy tale characters.
“Be generous, be a better man! You too can be Santa Claus! „- is the message of the campaign which runs to the fair, aimed at those who generously can bring a touch of joy to children in need, donating books and toys. Bucharest citizens and tourists alike, adults and children, one of the finest fairs, urging you to come here and upload your souls with joy and gladness, pending the brightest and blessed day of the year, the Christmas Day.
