Herăstrău Summer Theatre in Bucharest – the Capital’s Most Spectacular Open-Air Stage

Yesterday, the Herăstrău Summer Theatre hosted one of the most ambitious outdoor ballet productions ever presented in Romania. On June 12, audiences were invited to attend “An Evening in the Park – Swan Lake,” inspired by the celebrated masterpiece by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. The event brought together international artists and introduced an immersive format featuring a live orchestra, renowned dancers, and spectacular visual projections.

Organizers promoted the event as the first outdoor presentation of this production within the “An Evening in the Park” concept, transforming the Herăstrău amphitheatre into a large-scale stage dedicated to classical ballet.

Alongside its cultural activity, local authorities have announced plans to include the Herăstrău Summer Theatre in a major rehabilitation and modernization program, part of the broader regeneration project for Herăstrău Park. The objective is to preserve and further develop one of Bucharest’s most important open-air performance venues.
