He was born in Sinaia on a winter’s day, into a family with deep spiritual roots. From the very beginning, his destiny was intertwined with sound—an environment in which he grew, breathed, and evolved. Music was not merely a chosen path, but a calling.
He stepped onto the stage at the age of five and, over time, collaborated with major orchestras and took part in some of the most prestigious music festivals. He chose to remain a discreet yet profound presence—an artist who honors his origins through every performance, dedicating himself to an instrument of rare complexity and sensitivity: the pan flute.
Alongside his pan flute, Nicolae Voiculeț has traveled the world, carrying forward the essence of Romanian identity. Through his music, he pays tribute to the past, to his ancestors, and to tradition, conveying the emotion and vibration of Romanian soil. Folklore is not merely an influence—it is a fundamental part of his artistic being.

More than two decades ago, he founded the first pan flute school in the United States, in Chicago, contributing to the international recognition of this traditional instrument. His artistic formation is closely linked to his mentor, the master Gheorghe Zamfir, with whom he studied at the Academy of Music. Their relationship evolved beyond that of teacher and student into one of mutual respect and friendship, with Zamfir recognizing Voiculeț as a continuator of the art of the pan flute.
Today, Nicolae Voiculeț remains an artist fully aware of his mission—a creator who blends spirituality with art and continues to carry Romanian identity forward through sound.
For him, art is a prayer, and Romania—the sound that gives it voice.
