During the weekend of May 30 – June 1, 2026, Bucharest will host a wide range of cultural, artistic, and recreational events for both residents and visitors. The information below has been verified through official sources provided by the organizers and participating institutions.

“Femei pe Mătăsari” Festival 2026

From May 30 to June 1, Mătăsari Street will host a new edition of the urban festival “Femei pe Mătăsari”. The event features live concerts, urban art exhibitions, Romanian design showcases, creative workshops, food areas, and community-focused activities.

The festival is well known for promoting creative entrepreneurship, independent artists, and local cultural initiatives.

Art Safari – 18th Edition

One of Romania’s most important art exhibitions continues at the Art Safari venue on Amzei Street 13.

The current program includes:

  • “Vermont and the Charm of the Belle Époque”
  • “R: Eminescu. The Rational Poet”
  • “Felix Aftene – Journal”

The exhibitions are open until July 19, 2026, with visiting hours from Thursday to Sunday, 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

“Open Streets – Bucharest Urban Promenade”

Calea Victoriei once again becomes a pedestrian zone as part of the program organized by Bucharest City Hall and ARCUB.

For the weekend of May 30 – June 1, visitors can enjoy:

BAIFF – Bucharest Artificial Intelligence Film Festival

On May 29 and 30, the Bucharest Artificial Intelligence Film Festival (BAIFF) explores the relationship between cinema and emerging AI-based technologies. The festival includes film screenings and thematic discussions.

CellEAST Festival

The international cello music festival continues during this period at the Romanian Athenaeum and other cultural venues across Bucharest. The program brings together Romanian and international artists for a series of special concerts.
