UNTOLD, Romania’s largest music festival and one of the most acclaimed events of its kind worldwide, returns from August 6 to 9, 2026, with a special edition titled “UNTOLD ONE.” Organizers describe the upcoming event as the start of a new phase in the festival’s evolution, marking the beginning of a new decade through a completely renewed artistic and visual concept.
Held in the heart of Transylvania, in Cluj-Napoca, the festival continues to be one of Romania’s most important cultural and tourism drivers. Since its launch in 2015, UNTOLD has evolved from a project created for the European Youth Capital initiative into an international phenomenon that attracts hundreds of thousands of participants from dozens of countries each year.
A New Chapter for the Festival
The 2026 edition is presented under the concept “UNTOLD ONE,” an identity that symbolizes the beginning of a new era for the festival. Organizers have announced that the new concept will focus on immersive experiences, large-scale stage productions, and an even stronger connection between music, technology, and storytelling. In keeping with UNTOLD’s tradition, the entire city of Cluj-Napoca will become part of the festival universe, with activities taking place both around Cluj Arena and in adjacent entertainment and experiential areas.
Confirmed International Artists
Numerous international artists from the EDM, pop, and live music scenes have already been confirmed for the 2026 edition. The announced lineup includes Sting, Martin Garrix, Kygo, Marshmello, Steve Aoki, Sebastian Ingrosso, The Chainsmokers, Lost Frequencies, Lewis Capaldi, Zara Larsson, Flo Rida, Swae Lee, Afrojack, R3HAB, and MËSTIZA. Organizers have stated that additional artists will be announced in the months leading up to the festival.
The diversity of the lineup reflects the strategy that established UNTOLD on the international stage: combining major electronic music acts with pop, hip-hop, and live performers capable of attracting a broad and diverse audience.
More Than 200 Artists and Nine Stages
According to official information, the 2026 edition will bring together more than 200 artists and DJs across nine themed stages. Each stage will feature its own identity and musical direction, ranging from EDM and techno to house, trance, live music, and alternative experiences.
This structure has played a key role in the festival’s success, allowing attendees to discover both globally recognized headliners and emerging talents from around the world.
Major Economic and Tourism Impact
Over the years, UNTOLD has become one of the most important events for Romania’s tourism industry. The festival generates significant economic benefits annually for hotels, restaurants, transportation companies, and local businesses.
During the event, Cluj-Napoca transforms into an international entertainment hub, with accommodation capacity reaching near-full occupancy throughout the festival period. Participants travel from across Europe, North America, Asia, and the Middle East, contributing to the promotion of Romania’s image on the global stage.
A Landmark of the Festival Industry
Throughout its more than ten years of existence, UNTOLD has hosted some of the biggest names in global music and has become a benchmark for the European festival industry. The event is widely recognized for its spectacular productions, advanced technology, and its ability to transform Cluj-Napoca into a global cultural destination.
With UNTOLD ONE 2026, organizers aim to further strengthen this position and offer audiences an experience that marks the beginning of a new chapter in the festival’s history.
