Bunescu Domaine is a small family winery situated in the Dealu Mare wine-growing area, Prahova County, which since 2015 has changed its name to Kelaru. The vineyard has an area of 11, 5 ha and produces a special wine in limited editions of 500 - 5000 bottles, from the desire to produce a quality Romanian wine, respecting the nature and the traditions.
The history of Bunescu - Kelaru wine begins in the 1930s when Bucur Bunescu bought the vineyard and decided to establish his residence in Valea Călugărească. Communism and the nationalization of the properties during 1948 have shattered this wish, but the dream has been passed on for generations and in 2002 the Chelaru Family founded the company Casa Bunescu, in honor of their grandfather, guided by the same passion for nature and wine.
Valea Călugărească vineyard produces 10,000 liters of wine annually and the cultivated grapes varieties are: Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Merlot, Feteasca Neagră, Feteasca Regală, Sauvignon Blanc and Syrah. The brand that made the vineyard known is called Kelaru.
If you want to try a special wine, try the wine produced by Casa Bunescu - Kelaru and you will find the flavor of a unique Romania.
