Considered Romania’s largest festival dedicated to flowers and landscape design, West Side Flower Fest, organized by the Sector 6 City Hall, brought together spectacular exhibitions, themed gardens, concerts, workshops, and activities for the entire family.
Held between June 5 and 7, the festival revolved around the theme “Origins – The Garden of Regions and Craftsmanship”, a concept that celebrated Romania’s cultural heritage, local traditions, and traditional crafts reinterpreted through contemporary landscape design.
One of the main attractions of this year’s edition was the competition featuring 14 themed gardens created by students and professors from horticulture and landscape architecture faculties across Romania. Each project offered an original perspective on the relationship between nature, cultural identity, and urban space, using ornamental plant species, traditional elements, and artistic installations inspired by various regions of the country.
Visitors had the opportunity to admire spectacular displays incorporating traditional costumes, handcrafted objects, weaving elements, living plant structures, and intricate floral compositions. The gardens quickly became popular photo spots, transforming the park into a true open-air gallery.
In addition to the horticultural exhibitions, the festival featured an extensive area dedicated to flower and ornamental plant producers. More than one hundred exhibitors showcased decorative plant species, floral arrangements, gardening products, handmade items, and artisanal goods, giving visitors the opportunity to discover new trends in green space design and landscaping.
The artistic program further enhanced the festive atmosphere. Renowned performers, including Theo Rose, JO, and RVRSE, took to the stage alongside numerous dance ensembles, children’s choirs, and theatre groups. Each evening concluded with multimedia projections and visual performances that added an extra layer of spectacle to the event.
Children enjoyed a specially designed area dedicated to recreational and educational activities. Creative workshops, magic shows, circus performances, face-painting sessions, and interactive experiences attracted hundreds of families throughout the three-day festival.
West Side Flower Fest has further strengthened its position as one of Romania’s leading events dedicated to nature, horticulture, and green spaces. The festival once again demonstrated the growing public interest in horticulture, landscape architecture, and environmental sustainability, while Drumul Taberei Park became, for one memorable weekend, a place where nature, art, and community came together in a vibrant celebration of color and creativity.
The photographs captured throughout the festival illustrate the diversity of the floral displays, the attention to detail, and the dedication of participants who helped create spaces that completely transformed the urban landscape. From gardens inspired by Romanian traditions to contemporary installations and spectacular floral compositions, the 2026 edition delivered a memorable experience for visitors and confirmed the success of an event that has already become a cherished tradition in Sector 6 of Romania’s capital city.
