Lara Fabian for the second time in Romania

Belgian singer Lara Fabian, her real name Lara Crokaert, was born on January 9, 1970 in Etterbeek (Brussels, Belgium).

In the first five years of her life she is living in Italy, her mother being Italian, after that in 1975 they return to their native country. At the age of eight she becomes student of the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, take singing lessons, piano and solfeggio for a period of ten years. Encouraging talent, receives a gift from her parents, a piano.

Influenced by classical music, and songs signed by Barbra Streisand and Queen, the musical career of the artist begins to emerge from adolescence, when she starts composing her first pieces, which she sings in different competitions in an attempt to assert herself.

International recognition comes ten years later, in 1988, when she participates to the Eurovision Song Contest, held in Dublin. The interpretation of the song "Cutting” raises her to the 4th place.

The singer's first studio album, entitled 'Lara Fabian' is released in Canada in August 1991 and is highly regarded for his compositions, being sold over 100,000 copies.

The disc brings ADISQ nomination in 1991 and 1992 in the category 'most successful singer in francophone Quebec'; also the album “Lara Fabian” receives a nomination at the Felix Gala (the Canadian equivalent of the “Victoires de la musique” prize).

Until 2014 the artist launches no less than 14 solo albums, being very well received by music critics and fans of the famous singer, managed to sell a total of over 18 million records worldwide and became the best-selling artist of Belgian origin ever. The artist sings in French, Italian, Spanish, English, languages that she speaks fluently.

Lara Fabian sustains her first concert in Romania on 17 March 2012, at the Palace Hall in Bucharest. At the insistence of Romanian public, she accepts to sustain a second concert the next day. A moment charged with emotion was carried out with the song "Je t'aime". 4,000 spectators rose to their feet and began to sing, having small hand bills, on which was drawn a heart and inside it the words "You'd nous manque" (“We missed you").
